Old McDonald had an Emma????

Emmy has a new favorite song, it's Old McDonald, however if you ask her what animal is on the farm, she will 90% of the time say, Emma. You may ask yourself, who is Emma? Your guess is as good as mine. If you ask Emmy who Emma is she says, baby. She does have a little friend named Emma, but we don't see her very often and she is certainly not a baby. She does, however, LOVE Emma and calls her almost daily on the phone. I believe the little one already has an imagination friend. Hopefully one day we'll have a better idea of what this really means :)

So there are more updates in the world of Emmy that I believe I must share. I'm sure she'll kick me for posting these next two updates when she's older, so until then, I'll just keep on writing...

So Andy has always said that no matter how old you are, farts are funny and always will be (I'm sure Nana & PJimmy are so proud right now). I accepted this but never imagined a 19 month old would also share this same philosophy. Well, to my surprise, she has! Emmy thinks her farts (or toots, as we call them) are very funny, in fact hysterical! She

Oh and one last update! Since I posted about being so proud of poop, we didn't have much potty poop going on in this house. I would always ask her if she wanted to go, but wasn't really into it. Well something must have changed in the fast few days because now she is totally into it again. I proudly say Emmy went poop and pee on the potty this morning and pee again tonight before bed, wahooo!!! Oh the little joys in life!

And to end off on a silly note, here is a funny video we made the other morning. The girl has quite a sense of humor...

Make-up Anyone?!?!

Emmy watches me get ready every morning. She even has her own make-up drawer in the closet. She pretends to put her contacts in, do her eyes, etc. I guess this morning she thought daddy needed a little as well :)

Do you think Monkey wants to swim?

I don't know where Mommy's feet are?

Greetings from Florida

WOW, i can't believe how long it's been since I updated the blog, sorry about that! Well let's see what's been going on...
First of all, Emmy and I spent a lovely 5, turned into 8 days in Florida with my parents. We went down and then had our flight cancelled due to the weather and ended up staying 3 extra days. No complaints by me except we did miss Andy! While in Florida we went to an aquarium, the beach and the pool. Emily LOVES the pool even more so than she did in the past. It seems each time we go she gets even more and more excited. They have a small ledge with a waterfall and she would just sit next to this for hours if I would let her and splash in the water. The only reason she would ever ask to get out was so she could have a snack. If only you could eat in the pool, that would be the life!

So the pool was a huge success, the beach however, not so much. I was so excited to take her to the beach that as soon as we got there, off went the shoes and off shells hunting I thought we would go. Well off came the shoes and then came the tears. I think she hated the feeling of the sand in her toes that she freaked and would only sit on her lounge chair our my lap the rest of the time. Slowly, she would begin to touch the shells, but only if they had no sand on them, where did this girl come from?!?! Anyway, hopefully next time if I leave her shoes on she'll have more fun, but I'm not holding my breathe on this one.

The other highlight of our trip for Emmy was Mimi's iPad. She can now very clearly say iPad and would ask for it each and every morning as soon as she woke up. This would sometimes come even before asking to eat, which for this girl, is usually unheard of. Mimi downloaded some new apps and she loves them and is actually getting very good at using it, it's amazing and scary all at the same time. She even showed a woman sitting next to Mimi on the plane, how to use hers!

Can't wait until we are back in the sun!

Let the Party(s) Begin

From the time Em was born people always told me, just wait for the birthday parties to begin. I figured that would start around school age, but I guess I was wrong. I just took Em to a birthday party this past Saturday and we have another one in 2 weeks.

This past one was her first "real" friend's bday party. Of course last year she went to a few 1st birthday parties, but this was her first at a real party place. Her friend Alyssa was turning 2 and rented out the local Tumble Jungle and had open gym for an hour and then pizza and cupcakes. I bet you can guess which was Emmy's favorite part?!?!

She was actually really into playing around with the balls and bubbles and even the bouncy house, but when they said it was time to eat, her little eyes lite up (girl after my own heart). She devoured her piece of pizza and ate her cupcake even faster, even though I didn't think that was possible! She was one of the last sitting at the table, got a balloon as part of her goody bag, so she was a happy camper. The rest of the night she kept saying "Happy, Happy" (as in Happy Birthday). Now, we just can't wait for the next one...

18 Months Old Today!

Emily turned 18 months old today and to celebrate we went to the library and then to the doctor, yes I realize not so fun. She weighs 26.06 oz and is 32 1/2 inches tall. She is in the 70th percentile for both height and weight. She was amazing at the doctor (entertaining everyone in the waiting room while we waited) and as always Dr. Isgut said she was perfect! She loved playing with his stethoscope and didn't even cry for her 2 shots. I had the nurse pretend she was giving me the shots and then she was actually asking for them. She said no to the nurse as she was doing it, but didn't cry one tear, that was until she stumbled a bit and bumped her head on the door on the way out, go figure!

The other day I starting thinking about a few random facts I want to be sure I remember about Emily at this age, so here they go, 18 facts in honor of 18 months....

1. She mostly calls me Mama, but lately, it's been Mamoo
2. When you tell her something is broken, she will hit the back of it, trying to fix the battery, whether it has one or not.
3. She is finally tall enough to open the door (we have lever handles, so it's easier). Not so great when one wants privacy in the bathroom. Mental note... if you ever come to visit, lock the door!
4. Emmy talks in 3rd person more than any person I have ever met. She must say Emmy at least 30 times a day.
5. Emmy likes to hug everything, and I mean everything. When you say we are leaving or say "bye bye" she always asks to give hugs, sometimes it's a bit late, if someone is leaving us, but still sweet none the less. She has now started wanted to hug inanimate objects as well, including the portable dvd player and candy dispenser at the mall (picture below).
6. When she pretends to read, it sounds like Chinese
7. When she hears the garage door open she runs to see daddy and always want to play peek a boo.
8. She LOVES her monkey (blanket she sleeps with). She used to only want monkey in the crib, but now insists on bringing him everywhere and if we forgot him at home, sad, sad girl!
9. Emmy loves music and dancing, she asks to put music on in the morning and whenever she hears it while we're out she starts moving and shaking!
10. Emmy and her baby must eat every meal together. She tells me what to get baby to eat and I even have to feed her and wipe her hands and face when they are done.
11. I know people say there is a special bond between a child and their dog, but this little girl loves her puppy. She calls Charlie Cha, Cha and asks for him from the moment she wakes up.
12. She LOVES to cook.
13. Emmy calls a spoon a buch, (said with a little yiddish accent :) )
14. She remembers everything. You can show her something once and she'll remember it forever and I mean forever, whether you wanted her too or not.
15. If you ask Emmy to say the alphabet, she says A, B and then will repeat C, but as soon as you get to D, she starts laughing.
16. When Emmy says she has to go poo, poo and wants to go on the potty, she will start clapping because that's what we do when she goes.
17. As any little kid likes to do, Emmy loves to dip her food, she was getting a little crazy with the ketchup, so we started giving her olive oil, she LOVES it and requests it (oveloil, as she says) almost daily.
18. There isn't 1 food she doesn't like, she'll even eat salmon & tilapia - now that's a great eater!

Happy 18 Month Birthday, Emmy!
