Before bath time, after we get Emily undressed, we always sing this Don't go pee pee song as we are getting ready to transfer her into the tub. Usually we stand her up on the counter and she gets all excited. Well today, we were in the living room for some reason (I guess we were feeling dangerous) and all I can say is, it didn't end so well for Andy. The video tells all! Oh and don't forget to check out those thighs!!!

Rice cereal, mmmmm
I have been going to a Mom's Group through the hospital and I remember a few months ago there was a woman whose daughter was 6 months old and she was in group talking about how she wasn't ready to give her baby solid food. I remember sitting there thinking what is wrong with this lady, it's just solids. Well now I know how she feels... It was really hard for me to start feeding Emily as well and right now we are just doing it every so often. I know it's just liquid rice cereal but she just seems so little to be "eating". Right now I wouldn't call what she is doing eating, anyway, but it's just the principal. She mostly just plays with the spoon, throws it on the floor and makes funny faces, but it's good practice none the less. I'm pretty sure she isn't really a fan, but honestly who would be, have you seen this stuff?!?! I have only fed her twice so we'll give it some time, but if I was her, I would be holding out for the good stuff :)

Just had to share some pictures of my beautiful baby and I couldn't decide which ones to post so here they all are. But you are visiting this blog on your own free will, which means you want to see them, so I guess it's okay :) Enjoy!!!

Hannukah
We had a very busy Hannukah weekend. We were lucky enough to celebrate the first night in PA with Nana Jo, PJimmy, Sara & Grandpa. Unfortunately Emily goes to bed at 6, so right after the lighting of the candles she was off to bed, but of course got to open her present first. Straight from PA we went to NYC to celebrate Hannukah with my dad's family and of course cousin Julia's 1st Birthday! On Sunday Emily went with Mimi and Papa to the Delaney's for another Hannukah celebration. Unfortunately due to the freak ice storm we had on Sunday afternoon, Andy & I had to miss the festivities, but Emily had a great time!

5 Months Old!
I know this posting is a little bit late, but life has been extremely hectic. But no complaints here because luckily it's all been great and lot's of fun. Every day Emily is becoming more and more of a little girl and it's so much fun to watch. She is really into her hands lately, and pulling my hair (I guess I should get it cut!). She is a rolling machine and is using this technique to get where she needs to go or pick up something she wants. She has really been into her exersaucer lately, which is great for me too. I know I can put her in here for a second, leave the room and know she isn't going to go anywhere. She also just got a jumper for Hannukah and while she isn't quite sure what to do in there, she still looks cute trying. She is also starting to mimic facial expressions and sounds. Here is a little clip of Emily at 5 Months Old...

Happy Birthday Daddy!
On Friday, November 27th Andy turned the big 3-0. He wasn't too happy about the upcoming birthday, but we celebrated none the less. For the past few years as I started teasing Andy about turning 30 all he ever said he wanted for his birthday was a baby, preferably a Daddy's girl. Well fortunately I was able to deliver (no pun intended) on both requests and he got to celebrate with his beautiful daughter.
In honor of Andy's birthday this blog is dedicated to him! The most wonderful, sweet, caring and loving daddy there ever was. Not that I am surprised he would be any different, because he has always been great with kids, it still warms my heart to see them together. You can tell Emily is already a Daddy's girl and is working her magic powers. As soon as Emily hears her Daddy's voice or sees him enter the room she gets the biggest smile on her face and I'm not just talking a little grin here, this smile is HUGE and no one else in the world gets one, not even me! You can see her entire face light up and even if she saw him 10 minutes prior you would think she hadn't seen him in years! As Andy keeps saying, he'll give her whatever she wants and at this rate I know it's true!
Happy Birthday, we love you!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend!
Emily had a nice time celebrating Thanksgiving with the family. This year we combined the family since Mimi & Papa are homeless; there condo won't be ready for another few weeks. So we celebrated with 50 of our closest family and friends at Ro & Bryan's House! It was fun to be able to see everyone and celebrate together, but poor Emmy got a little overwhelmed. It took her a good hour or so to warm up to everyone and be comfortable. Over the past few days she has really become more aware of her surroundings and recognizing people, especially Andy & I, so she was a little out of her element with all of the people. Once she was settled in she enjoyed her time with the family and especially liked watching football with her daddy.
Nana Jo, PJimmy & Sara came up on Friday to help us celebrate Andy's Birthday and spend the weekend in CT. We had a great time relaxing, eating, playing games, eating some more and walking around New Haven, where we ate pizza of course! Here are some pictures from the weekend...

Busy Girl!
4 Months has really brought out a new, more active, Emily. I guess all the sleep she has been getting is allowing her more active playtime while she's awake. In the past few days, she has been rolling around like crazy, which is SO much fun to watch. She has become more interested in toys and wants to grab and touch everything that's within her reach, especially my hair! She is more observant and certainly more aware of her surroundings. If she hears a noise or anyone talking she'll quickly turn her head to see what it is or try to listen in on the conversation, sounds familiar :). She found her thumb a while ago, but wasn't really sure what to do with it. She now is proper and rather avid thumb sucker, it's great to see her be able to self-soothe. Also, now that she can roll onto her belly on her own terms she loves being there. She has also become a lot more cuddly, which of course I LOVE!!! Here is a picture of my snuggle bug and a video of her rolling over. Enjoy... we certainly are :)

4 Months Old!
Yesterday, Emily turned 4 months old, crazy how fast the time flies by. As I write this blog I can hear her chatting away in her bed. Andy and I think she and her monkey friend stay up late and have parties and he must be a real comedian because she is always laughing and talking, it's so cute! Yesterday she had more shots, I feel like I do is take her to the doctor, but once again she took them like a champ! The doctor couldn't stop raving about her and said she is going to be a big talker (just like her mommy). She was chatting up a storm through the whole visit and is discovering her voice more and more each day, it's so much fun. She weighed 14.02 ounces and was 25 inches long (75% percentile for both). Luckily her head size was the same, 16 inches, and now is only in the 50% for head, instead of 90%!

She's rolling, rolling, rolling
So last night we put Emily down to sleep at 6PM (darn day light saving, has really messed me up) and have been leaving her door slightly open because we like to go in and peek on her. It's fun to see if she's moved around, what direction she's facing, if she's cuddling her monkey, etc. Well last night I went in myself and did a double take...she was on her BELLY!! I stood there for a few minutes thinking my eyes were deceiving me, so I ran to get Andy for a second opinion. Sure enough she was sleeping soundly on her belly and we couldn't believe it. Of course Andy said ''Why the heck did you bring me in, now I won't sleep all night!" Well, we did sleep all night and so did Emily, waking up at 5:45 AM on her back, so I guess she was rolling around all night. It's amazing what a difference a day can make :)

Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween!!! Emily was very lucky because she had two costumes this year. On Friday she was a strawberry, courtesy of Nana Jo (pictures to follow) and today she was a ladybug and a mighty cute one if I may say so myself. We went to Main Street in town with some friends and walked around with the other little ghosts and goblins. It was really cute to see all of the cute costumes. The weather was kind of gross, but Emily fell asleep 10 minutes into the adventure anyway and missed the whole thing, not that I was surprised. Next year will be fun when she can actually collect candy for Andy and I to eat. This year we were forced to buy our own. After trick or treating I took the tired ladybug home while Jared and Andy went to the store for dinner. I told them to buy a little candy in case we got any trick or treaters. I'm not sure Jared understood that we don't really get any trick or treaters and that I was just doing it as a precaution. Well they brought home 2 bags and all I can say is, it's almost gone and I have two very sick gentleman sitting next to me:).

Emmy 0, Mommy 2
YEA, Emmy has been napping in her crib for almost 2 hours as I begin to write this blog...I'll keep it short so I can get through it!
This past week has been amazing on the sleeping front. She has slept between 9-12 hours each night and I feel like a new person. It's so amazing to actually wake up on my own and have a few minutes if not a few hours to myself to get things done, it's great. At the beginning of the week I wasn't quite sure what to do with my time but that didn't last long. I hope next week to begin going back to the gym, wish me luck! Now that we had the long sleeping going at night I wasn't sure how the nap schedule was going to work. When she was waking up 1-2 times a night I had it down pretty well at what times she needed to nap during the day, but now she was throwing me for a loop. Well today I am SO proud to say she napped 2 hours this morning and is now, like I said, going on her second long nap of the day. She must be resting up for a big afternoon/evening of Trick or Treating! I think I might play Eye of the Tiger and run up and down my stairs (quietly of course) to celebrate my victory, YEA! It's amazing how something that seems so simple like a nap can cause me to jump for joy!!!
I'll post Halloween pictures later but until then I will enjoy some more quiet...

Pumpkin Picking Fun!
It's amazing to think that a year ago from this past Thursday we just found out we were expecting a baby and here we are today with a beautiful, happy 3 1/2 month old. My gosh, it's amazing what a difference a year can make!
We were so excited for Emily to get her first pumpkin and I personally couldn't wait to get some cider doughnuts. What a beautiful fall day!

Blogging Slacker :(
I have been a blogging slacker lately, but not becuase I haven't wanted to write, but just because we have been so busy this month. After our trip to Yardley, we went to Ithaca for my 5th year reunion and then to Florida to see my parent's new condo. All of these wonderful adventures have kept me from writing as much as I have wanted to. Today, however, I have plenty of energy to write becuase Emily slept for 11 hours last night. I only slept for 7 and not in a row because Andy and I from 3:30AM on, were both getting up every hour or so to make sure she was still breathing, but heck that was more sleep than I have had in a LONG time. The longest she slept before this was 8 hours and that was well over a month ago so we were both shocked this morning. I'm hoping this will be the beginning of some longer nights!
Emily has been chatting up a storm lately and laughing more as well, which is so much fun. She discovered her feet the other day, and it has been very entertaining watching her figure out a way to get them in her mouth, or try and take off her sock. She lights up when Andy and I come in the room and it melts our hearts. We both know she recognizes us, but to see the smile when she hears our voices or sees our faces is really awesome. I didn't really know what it was going to be like to be a Mom (still shocks me to think that I am), but it has been amazing. Of course we could both use some more sleep and some more time to ourselves, but we wouldn't change a thing. She is the greatest gift we have both ever received!

We're leaving on a jet plane...
We came home late Sunday (actually Monday morning) from a trip to Florida with my parents and Jared. My parents just bought a condo in Florida so we had to check out the new place and get ourselves settled for future visits. We considered this our introductory visit. She was great on the plane (not that I was surprised) and even got her first set of "Jetblue Wings". I didn't even know they still had them, but I remember getting them on Delta when I was little, so it was so sweet of the flight attendant to give us some, they are definitely going in her baby book!
The condo is beautiful and the area is great and we are going to have so much fun down there. This trip was hard because Emily can't wear sunblock yet, so we couldn't go to the pool, but when we go back after Christmas right to the pool we go. She already has the cutest little bathing suit, so I can't wait!!! We spent the rest of the time eating, shopping and relaxing which was really nice. There are some great outlets down there which could be dangerous :) Now we just anxiously await our next trip down!

Ithaca reunion!
Two weekends ago, we went to Ithaca for my 5th year reunion with Mia, Kris, Lamb, & Jennie. We had the best time showing Emily all of our favorite restaurants and spots on campus, and of course the house my 5 girlfriends and I lived in our junior and senior year. She slept through most of it, but got a nice taste of some Ithaca weather (raining and gross in the morning, beautiful in the afternoon). She was so good, which gave Andy and I hope that we could continue to take trips in the future! We took lots of pictures to remember the weekend by, but here are a few...
She and monkey had a blast!
