Emily and I had a little impromptu photo shoot this afternoon. After a fun day of music class, a playdate with Evan and then dropping off dinner for a friend who just adopted a baby, we decided to have some photo fun :)

Big Girl!
It's amazing to actually sit back and think about how much Emily already understands. Sometimes I will ask her a question or say something, thinking she will just give me a blank stare, but she responds in the appropriate way and each time I am so amazed. Just yesterday we were playing catch, with a little toy of hers and she was in to it for a good 15 minutes. I would say, throw it back to mommy and she would each and every time, and I must admit she has a pretty good arm for a 9 month old! Of course she was also so proud of herself and would clap her hands after she threw the ball. Speaking of, she is really into clapping her hands lately. She will crawl around on the floor and occasionally stop, sit down and start clapping, and you can see how proud she is of herself, it's adorable. I will try to capture it on video, but taping her is hard these days because all she wants to do is grab the camera, I guess she's into technology. She'll probably know how to work the computer in no time, scary!
Besides clapping, she is also really into sharing her food. She loves to feed me her puff snacks or even better, her peas...yum! Nothing like a nice smashed up pea being fed to you from sticky fingers, ohh the joys of being a mommy :) She also still loves to "talk" on the phone. Actually it doesn't even have to be a phone, it can be a toy, remote, anything, she just loves to put it up to her ear and pretend she's talking like Mommy. I finally captured it the other day, while out to lunch with Robin, she's too funny!

Visit with Nana Jo, PJimmy & Aunt Sara
We had a wonderful week with Nana Jo and then weekend with PJimmy, Nana Jo & Aunt Sara. The weather was absolutely beautiful so we were so lucky to be able to spend some time outside. Saturday we went to the park, so they could witness Em's continued fascination with the swings.

We're on the move...
So I was always concerned that Charlie was going to always be eating Emily's toys and stuffed animals. Well, he has pleasantly surprised me and he has been great, it's Emily I have to worry about now! She has started crawling more, well actually she only really crawls for things she isn't supposed to have including: remotes, cell phones, computer wires and of course her favorite dog bones and kongs (you know the one with the peanut butter), all i can say is AWESOME (insert sarcasm here)!

Big Girl in her Crib
Park Fun with Peyton!
We were lucky enough to have some BEAUTIFUL weather this week. I can't help but get excited for spring to finally be here, I think both Em and I are suffering from some cabin fever.
Monday was the nicest day so we wasted no time and headed off to the park. We went Emily's friend Peyton there and her mom Sandra. I met Sandra through my Mom's Club and we normally meet on Thursday's with another woman and her son Evan, but we couldn't pass up the beautiful day. The girls LOVED the swings and watching all of the other children play. They weren't big fans of the slides, even though Sandra and I were enjoying them! We then let the girls end their day of fun by playing in the dirt and wood chips. We can't wait for next week and more warm weather!

Ithaca Girls in Town!
We were SO lucky to have some very special visitors this past weekend. A few of the Ithaca girls came to town and Em has now been officially inducted in the 410 girl of fame. For those of you who don't know, the girls and I lived at 410 South Aurora our junior and senior year's of college and were know as the "410 Girls". Emmy is now an official member of the crew and has the cutest t-shirt (courtesy of Aunt Jennie) to prove it!

More Funny Antics
We're all about the antics these days. Here is another one, that I must admit is SUPER cute! (I know what you are thinking, everything she does is cute, and of course I agree...)
OH BOY!
So I have read in a few different places, magazines, books, etc. that you should be careful what you do because all of a sudden you will find your child copying you. Well I thought I had a bit more time, but I guess kids really are sponges. I was sitting on the couch today with Emily on my lap, checking the voicemail on my cell phone, when I look up and see her putting the house phone up to her ear exactly as I was doing. You can imagine the surprise on my face, how the heck does she know to do that? Is this a sign that I talk on the phone too much or is it just a womanly trait that is developed at birth, I would like to think it’s the latter. I then decided to see if I could get her to do it again, so I said Emmy, say hello and sure enough, the phone went right up to her ear! I can only imagine she’ll be asking for a cell phone as soon as she learns to talk!

Sweet Kisses!
OMG!!!I just got my first kiss from Em tonight!
Andy is out of town this week so I was putting her to bed and we had just turned out the light and were saying our goodnights when she leaned in and kissed me. I stopped for a moment, wondering if this had really happened or if my mind was just playing tricks on me, but when I looked at her she had this sweet glimmer in her eye and looked so proud of what she had just done. Ahhhhhhh, the joys of being the best little girl's mommy, I am one lucky lady!

The Difference a week can make...
It's amazing how much can change in 1 week! I know Emily is changing and growing all the time, but if I had to pick a week so far that I have visibly noticed the most changes I would say it was this past week. Here are some of our latest developments...
1. Emily is in the process of getting 3 more teeth. 1 more on the bottom and 2 on the top. 2 have broken through so far and we are now just waiting on the third. These teeth seemed to be more bothersome than the past 1, but she has still been a trooper considering the pain she must be in. The only downside is every so often I hear the scraping of the top and bottom teeth together. I think she is exploring this new sensation, but personally the noise is like nails on a chalkboard, ahhhh!
2. If you tell Emily to "Go Sleep" she will tilt her head to the side and pretend she is sleeping. She even took this to a new level, while we were out to lunch one day in Florida and decided to rest her head on the table. It was hilarious!
I tried to get her to do it for the camera, but instead she was entertaining us in her own way!
3. If you say "How Big is Emmy" she puts her hands above her head. At first we couldn't figure out why it always just seemed like she was resting them on her head, but then we realized her arms were so little that she couldn't reach beyond resting them on her head - so cute.
4. Emily has also been playing peek-a-boo with anything and everything she can find including, blankets, her stuffed animals, board game boards, clothing, toys. You name it, she has tried it. Even if we can still see her, she still thinks it's funny.
5. She has starting waving to people and especially likes to do it when she sees her self in the mirror. This morning while I was getting her out from a nap, I sat her up in her crib for a minute and Charlie came into the room at the same time. I said "Hi Charlie" and she started waving at him!
6. Lastly, she is starting to CRAWL! I can't believe it and have a feeling in the next week or so she will be cruising, she always looks so determined. I will keep you posted! Here is a short clip of some of her first "moves". She always want to get anything she can't have, but no worries, I didn't let her eat the computer wire!
