More Shots :(
Poor Emily had another round of shots on Thursday. Since I didn't capture her Dora bandaids before, I made sure I did this time. Andy and I were upset but she took them like a champ!

Happy Birthday Uncle Jared
Last night we went out to dinner to celebrate Jared's 31st birthday. We had a delicious meal at Rraci's in Brewster and Emily gets an A+ for her behavior. She ate, hung out and slept a while, so I would say it was a success and makes me feel confident that we can actually go out to dinner once in a while. She even made a little present in her diaper for Jared while he was holding her :)

Busy Week...
We had a very busy, but fun week. On Tuesday, Emily and I went to our first Mom's group meeting. This is a group through Danbury Hospital that meets weekly and provides support to new moms and also a great way to meet other people and help answer each other's questions. The babies there ranged from 5 days old to 6 months. It was amazing to see the tiny babies and imagine that she was ever that small. During the two hour group she managed to eat, sleep, poop and play, so I would say it was a success :)
I also worked 4 days this week, a few at my old job and two nights at Positive Energy (dance studio). It was the most I have worked since Emily was born and boy was I tired. It was also the most I have been away from her since she was born and while it was a nice break and an opportunity to have some adult conversation, I really missed my little lady. I feel so lucky to be able to stay home with her.
This weekend we enjoyed Rosh Hashanah with both the Glantz and Kotlen families. Though dinner time is not Emily's best she was great and enjoyed seeing the family, especially her cousins!
Emily had really discovered her hands over the past week or so and loves to grab everything she can get her hands on, including her shirt (see below) I think we have a flasher on our hands!
Here are a few of the latest pictures we have taken...

2 Month Check-Up
On Friday, Emily had her 2 month check-up at the doctor. I was certainly not looking forward to the shots part, but I was really curious to see how much she had grown this past month. Last month, the doctor was concerned she hadn't gained that much weight since birth, so this appointment was important. Well the little munchkin did not let us down :) She had gained over 2 pounds this past month and now weighs 11lbs 10oz and grew 2 inches, now 23 inches long. I was a bit concerned because her head size is in the 90th percentile, while her height and weight are in the 75th, hopefully it won't stay that way forever! The doctor was really impressed with her head control and said she was just perfect! Not that he had to tell me that :)
She did take the shots like a champ and after a few tears, she's now sporting two very adorable Dora bandaids, one on each leg. She was a big out of sorts yesterday afternoon, but after a good night's sleep (thanks to some tylenol) she seems to be back to her happy self.

Welcome to our blog!

We can't believe Emily is already 2 months old today! She has changed so much over the past 2 months that we can't believe it. She is such a happy baby, always smiling, laughing and talking. She rolled over for the first time from her belly to back on Tuesday and has slept 8 hrs at night twice (too bad, her mommy did not).
Since she was born starting this blog was on our list of things to do, but along with many other things it got pushed to the back burner as we navigated our way through parenthood and bonded with our adorable baby girl.
We wish we could go back and write about everything we have experienced thus far, but instead we will just start fresh from here and make a commitment to ourselves and to Emily to keep posting so we will always have this information to look back on. If she is anything like her mom, she will LOVE hearing stories of her childhood, looking at pictures and watching videos.

With love,
Andy, Jess & Emily
