On Friday, November 27th Andy turned the big 3-0. He wasn't too happy about the upcoming birthday, but we celebrated none the less. For the past few years as I started teasing Andy about turning 30 all he ever said he wanted for his birthday was a baby, preferably a Daddy's girl. Well fortunately I was able to deliver (no pun intended) on both requests and he got to celebrate with his beautiful daughter.
In honor of Andy's birthday this blog is dedicated to him! The most wonderful, sweet, caring and loving daddy there ever was. Not that I am surprised he would be any different, because he has always been great with kids, it still warms my heart to see them together. You can tell Emily is already a Daddy's girl and is working her magic powers. As soon as Emily hears her Daddy's voice or sees him enter the room she gets the biggest smile on her face and I'm not just talking a little grin here, this smile is HUGE and no one else in the world gets one, not even me! You can see her entire face light up and even if she saw him 10 minutes prior you would think she hadn't seen him in years! As Andy keeps saying, he'll give her whatever she wants and at this rate I know it's true!
Happy Birthday, we love you!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend!
Emily had a nice time celebrating Thanksgiving with the family. This year we combined the family since Mimi & Papa are homeless; there condo won't be ready for another few weeks. So we celebrated with 50 of our closest family and friends at Ro & Bryan's House! It was fun to be able to see everyone and celebrate together, but poor Emmy got a little overwhelmed. It took her a good hour or so to warm up to everyone and be comfortable. Over the past few days she has really become more aware of her surroundings and recognizing people, especially Andy & I, so she was a little out of her element with all of the people. Once she was settled in she enjoyed her time with the family and especially liked watching football with her daddy.
Nana Jo, PJimmy & Sara came up on Friday to help us celebrate Andy's Birthday and spend the weekend in CT. We had a great time relaxing, eating, playing games, eating some more and walking around New Haven, where we ate pizza of course! Here are some pictures from the weekend...

Busy Girl!
4 Months has really brought out a new, more active, Emily. I guess all the sleep she has been getting is allowing her more active playtime while she's awake. In the past few days, she has been rolling around like crazy, which is SO much fun to watch. She has become more interested in toys and wants to grab and touch everything that's within her reach, especially my hair! She is more observant and certainly more aware of her surroundings. If she hears a noise or anyone talking she'll quickly turn her head to see what it is or try to listen in on the conversation, sounds familiar :). She found her thumb a while ago, but wasn't really sure what to do with it. She now is proper and rather avid thumb sucker, it's great to see her be able to self-soothe. Also, now that she can roll onto her belly on her own terms she loves being there. She has also become a lot more cuddly, which of course I LOVE!!! Here is a picture of my snuggle bug and a video of her rolling over. Enjoy... we certainly are :)

4 Months Old!
Yesterday, Emily turned 4 months old, crazy how fast the time flies by. As I write this blog I can hear her chatting away in her bed. Andy and I think she and her monkey friend stay up late and have parties and he must be a real comedian because she is always laughing and talking, it's so cute! Yesterday she had more shots, I feel like I do is take her to the doctor, but once again she took them like a champ! The doctor couldn't stop raving about her and said she is going to be a big talker (just like her mommy). She was chatting up a storm through the whole visit and is discovering her voice more and more each day, it's so much fun. She weighed 14.02 ounces and was 25 inches long (75% percentile for both). Luckily her head size was the same, 16 inches, and now is only in the 50% for head, instead of 90%!

She's rolling, rolling, rolling
So last night we put Emily down to sleep at 6PM (darn day light saving, has really messed me up) and have been leaving her door slightly open because we like to go in and peek on her. It's fun to see if she's moved around, what direction she's facing, if she's cuddling her monkey, etc. Well last night I went in myself and did a double take...she was on her BELLY!! I stood there for a few minutes thinking my eyes were deceiving me, so I ran to get Andy for a second opinion. Sure enough she was sleeping soundly on her belly and we couldn't believe it. Of course Andy said ''Why the heck did you bring me in, now I won't sleep all night!" Well, we did sleep all night and so did Emily, waking up at 5:45 AM on her back, so I guess she was rolling around all night. It's amazing what a difference a day can make :)
