Sunday Funday!

We initially hoped to go to the Zoo today but we got a late start on the day so we decided to have some local fun instead. We started at the park where Emily must have gone down the slide about 30 times. She was loving going down and "walking" back up (with a little assistance from mommy, of course). We went on the swings, checked out the other kids and just enjoyed some fun in the sun. We came home, had lunch and then went out on the deck to play with our water table. It was a perfect day to splash around outside. The day was finished by a snack on the couch with dad and dinner with Mimi and Papa. Sounds like a pretty good day for a 13 month old if I may say so myself. Oh, plus we got a 3 hour afternoon nap, so pretty good day for Mommy and Daddy too!

Maine 2010

We just got home on Friday from a week long trip to Maine with Nana Jo, PJimmy and Aunt Sara who has now decided to be called Sadie. We didn't have the best weather, but none the less we had a nice time. We were able to take the boat out one day and I think that was the highlight of the trip for Em. She loved being on the water, getting splashed and being bounced around, she wanted to keep going and going. We had some delicious dinners out, did a little outlet shopping and walked up and down the road probably 20 times to chase the chickens. While we were there Emily for some reason started walking with her hands behind her, making it look like she is Superwoman, it's hilarious! I am going to try and capture it on film. Here are some highlights from the trip...

Stopped on the way for some lunch

Reading to Charlie in the car

Bathing in the lake...it was freezing, they are crazy!

Loved playing with acorns from the deck

Playing miniature golf!

She got the hang of it quickly, must be in her genes!

How old are you, Em?

First Haircut...just the bangs!

I realized it was time for Emily's first haircut because each time I took her out of her crib in the morning she could hardly see through her bangs, poor girl. Instead of taking her to a place we asked Aunt Claudia to do it instead. I think it was much less traumatic for the both of us. She just took a little off the bangs, but now she can see, yay!!

Let me comb it myself!

I think I need a trim, what do you think?

The first cut!

YAY, I can see!

Showing off her bangs :)

Enjoying the swings at David's Party!

Easton Carnival

A few weeks ago we went to a local carnival and I was just able to take these pictures off my Mom's camera. Emily had a great time at the carnival and this time you could tell she was really into the rides, wanting to go on them more and more. Of course she was trying to get Mimi to take her on the rides, but Mimi opted to be the photographer, which we were happy about because we got some great shots!

And off she goes!

Everyday Emily has been walking more and more, it's amazing. She has been doing laps around the house and can make it all the way around without stopping (well in Emily terms that means falling), and gets so proud of herself upon her return.

Yesterday was a first though. Andy and I had a few errands to run and apparently Emily wanted to experience her new found freedom in a new location. She insisted on getting out of the cart at Home Goods and off she went. At first she wanted to walk around holding both of our hands, but then after a few minutes and some gained confidence she took off, picking up speed as she saw some brightly colored stuff animals not too far in the distance.

Next stop was Ace Hardware so we decided to skip the cart all together. It was adorable to watch her just hold our hands and walk throughout the store. Here are some pictures to prove it (yes, I was the crazy lady taking pictures in Ace!)...

A few random shots...

Emily's version of reading on the toilet!

We turned her car seat around on our trip home from PA. I love it because now we can see this precious face sleep :)

She out grew her ducky tub so we brought it downstairs to clean it out one last time. Apparently someone wasn't ready to give it up.

We haven't fixed the roof yet, but she LOVES her new ride!
