Dancing Girl

Emily LOVES Elmo. Don't get my wrong, Barney is still up there on her list, but she loves watching Elmo on the computer. As soon as I start to pull the video up she starts dancing. Here's a little clip...

Poor Little Baby

So I didn't think there was a downside to having a playgroup, but last week I found out there was...sickness! Obviously I always knew that Emily would get eventually get sick, and I'm actually proud we made it more than 10 months without anything but a little cold.

Unfortunately she woke up on Sunday morning with a fever and this was the weekend daddy was in charge (mommy was spending the weekend in Boston to celebrate Jennie's upcoming nuptials). Well Daddy, with the help of Mimi (while daddy was working), took great care of the little lady. She thankfully only had the fever for 1 day, but did end up getting a few sores on her hand and a rash on her back from the fever and virus. She isn't 100% yet, but is almost there.

Florida in May

We just got home from Florida last night and had a great time, as always. We went down because Andy's friend from Ithaca was getting married and we lucked out that the wedding was only 2 hours away from my parents new condo, so Emily could stay with them the night of the wedding. The weather was beautiful, actually a bit hot for me, but it gave us plenty of time by the pool, which was great. The past two trips to Florida, Em wasn't the biggest fan of the water, but this time she started getting in to it, even splashing a little bit, which made me very happy, considering summer is quickly approaching. Here are some pictures from the trip...

Playing peek-a-boo with Papa (he is under the blanket)

She wasn't too sure about the water at first...

but she loved it!

On Mother's Day

We told Emily to smell the flower, I guess she doesn't really understand the concept yet!

10 Months Old

Emily turned 10 months today, so exciting! It's crazy to think that some of her little friends have started turning 1, I just can't believe it. My tiny baby isn't so tiny anymore!

10 months old and growing strong and moving quickly! Emily has been all over the place lately and she isn't even walking yet. She has certainly kept me on my toes and made me realize we need to buy more gates or I'm going to go crazy. With the crawling has also brought a lot of standing and she has started taking a few steps only while holding on of course. She also loves to crawl away from me (hence the need for the gates) and when I pretend to chase her she thinks it's hilarious. She also understands certain things that she shouldn't crawl towards, such as outlet covers and when she gets close she shakes her head no and sometimes listens and sometimes proceeds to want to touch it anyway, oy!

Emily has continued to talk a lot lately but is still only saying Mama, Yaya, Nana and Hi (which I think is now her favorite word). We are still avidly working on Dada, but maybe she is saving that for Father's Day :) She LOVES to say Hi and I think believes she is the Mayor. She loves to wave and say Hi to everyone or anything we see. She always gets a big smile and people have even told me she has made their day, I love it! Speaking of being out, there hasn't been 1 time that I have been in a store that I don't get stopped at least once by people telling me how beautiful she is, of course that gives me the biggest smile!

Emily has started signing the word "more" which has become very helpful for me while she is eating and also for me to know if she is hungry. If I ask her if she wants to eat, she will do the "more" sign, she's so smart! Speaking of eating she continues to have a great appetite, not that I am surprised based on who her parents are, but she has now added chicken, ground beef, turkey and even turkey hot dogs to the mix and so far she has loved everything.

We still have our playgroup on Thursdays with Evan and Payton and it's really sweet to see the kids starting to interactive with each other. Before it was just for the moms (can't lie about that), but now she actually gets excited to see them and obviously I do too. We ran into Payton and her Mom in the grocery store the other day and when we walked away Emily started crying because she didn't get to play with Payton, I love that she knows and loves her little friends.

Lastly, I know I have said this before, but Emily really has an arm and I believe we have a little athlete on our hands, which makes Andy excited. She absolutely loves to play catch and can actually throw pretty far. Yes, I realize I don't have much to compare it to, besides her friends, but I dare you to show me another 10 month old with an arm like hers! (I know, spoken like a true Mother:) )

10 Months Old!

Kisses for Mommy!

From Last Weekend

I didn't get a chance to post these pictures from last weekend and our visit to the carnival with Nana Jo, PJimmy and Aunt Sara. There weren't very many rides for Emily to go on, so I am looking forward to the annual St. Rose carnival in July. Emily did, however, go on the train ride with her Daddy and she had a great time. Meanwhile, Sara, Nana Jo & I went on the swings and I can't say we were all thrilled about the ride. Here are a few pictures of Emily & Daddy at the carnival.

The Difference a Year Can Make

I remembered taking a picture last year, while I was pregnant, and our lilac's had just bloomed. I went back and checked the date and we took it on May 2nd. Well it's amazing the difference a year can make...
