Emily says "Mama"

Finally captured it on video... She still says Mama to everything and anything, but it still warms my heart each and every time.

My little entertainer...

So I guess we have a little entertainer on our hands, not that I am surprised in this family...

On Thursday, Emily and I went to Trader Joe's. Emmy was sitting in the grocery cart like a big girl, which she absolutely loves. This allows her to see everybody and everything, and I must admit she looks so darn cute in there. It all started when we met a little boy and his Mom by the avocados. Em decided she was going to do all she could to get his attention, maybe she had a little crush :). Talking, smiling then even a little yelling, but nothing was cutting it. I actually think he was wondering, who is this little girl and what is she saying, he was almost 2, so much more mature, I don't think he wanted to be bothered by such a younger woman! After a few minutes we went our separate ways, however we ended up passing each other 4 more times. As soon as Emmy spotting them coming down our aisle she got all excited and continued to do all she could to get his attention. Unfortunately she didn't have much success, but other people in the store gave her attention so I think she was okay! I guess we have a little flirt on our hands :)

We left Trader Joe's and ran to the post office, for what was supposed to be a quick trip, but in the usual post office fashion we were there for almost 15 minutes. Well Emmy waisted no time and decided she would entertain everyone in line behind us. She decided she would play peek-a-boo with her bundle me. For those of you who don't know, this is a blanket that attaches to the car seat. She sometimes plays peek-a-boo at home with a burp cloth, but not very often so I was so surprised when she decided to this day. She took the top of the bundle me, pulled it up over her head for anyone that would look. The line at this point was growing behind us and each new person that got in line, also got a show. Thanks to Emmy, a lot of people who would otherwise be grouchy waiting in line, were all smiles!

The entertaining continued tonight as we were getting ready to give her dinner. The video shows all...

Pedicures Please!

I can't believe I forgot to post this picture from last week...

Last Friday, I went with 2 friends to get pedicures and since I didn't have anyone to watch Em, I decided to take her with me. I figured she would be really interested in watching all of the people and if I as wrong, I wouldn't have my toes painted and we would head home. Well, we had the BEST time and all the ladies in the place LOVED her. She sat with my friend so I actually got to sit back and relax, which as so wonderful as well. Emmy was so interested in looking at all the pretty colors and watching all of the ladies. I think for a few minutes she thought she was going to take a bath, because when they started filling the tubs for the pedicure she was getting all excited, just like she does before her bath. It was such girly fun that I can't wait until she is big enough for us to really go for pedicures :)

Super Bowl Sunday

We went to our friend's house for the Super Bowl and Emily must have known she as going to have a late night partying because she took two, 2 hour naps during the day, it was wonderful! We went early because we weren't sure how long the babies would cooperate for and we wanted to make sure we had plenty of time to eat, I certainly have my priorities straight :) Well we ended up staying until 8 and Emily was SOOO good. Fortunately there were a few other kids & Aunt Mia & Uncle Kris there for her to "play" with, so they kept her entertained for hours.

Getting ready for the big game with Daddy... TOUCHDOWN!

7 Months Old!

Emily turned 7 months old on Friday, so exciting!

I know I keep saying every month that she is growing and changing but I still can't believe how quickly it happens. I swear each day brings on new and exciting changes. She has started "talking" a lot more in the past few weeks, now even saying "ma, ma". Of course she has no idea that I am "ma, ma" and she usually says it when she is sitting in her chair ready to eat, but I don't care, it's still so fun to hear! Hopefully "da da" will be next.

Speaking of sitting in her chair, Emmy has been eating like a champ, now up to 3 meals a day. She still LOVES avocado, but has now added carrots, apples, pears, peas, butternut squash and sweet potato to the mix. She's not a fan of butternut squash or sweet potato, but we'll come back to them again in a few days. Thankfully her tooth is growing so we'll be able to explore more foods soon, today I actually think I saw another one coming in...I'll keep you posted!

Emily is also moving around so much more than she was a few weeks ago. I have a feeling she will be crawling before I know it. I am certainly not ready for that! I guess we should start baby proofing the house. For now I a will enjoy the days of putting her in one place knowing that if I step away for a moment she'll be where I left her when I return.

We have started to make some new mom & baby friends which has been great. Emily LOVES to see her friends, especially trying to grab at their hair and eyes (I guess I'll have to work on that one). They stare at each other, hold hands and share toys, it's very cute. Plus for me, it's so wonderful to have adult conversations every now and then.

Lastly, I must say that the little lady has also turned very cuddly. In fact this morning she took a 45 minute nap on me which she hasn't done since she was tiny. It's the sweetest feeling just having her lay her head down wanted to snuggle up close. Ahhhh, I wish she wasn't napping now so I could give her a squeeze.

A Few Photos

First dinner out in a high chair...she had peas and avocado at a Mexican Restaurant!
Practicing yoga, with a little help from Noah's ark!

I was taking so many pictures, I think she was getting mad. This one makes me laugh, because it looks like I am the paparazzi and she is a celebrity, no pictures please!

Taking a bath in the sink with Nana Jo!

Shout out to the Delafield Family!

Emily and I were SO lucky to have a short, but wonderful visit with the Delafield Family on Saturday! Em had such a great time meeting & seeing the whole family. She hadn't napped much that day, so she was a bit cranky, but she was a trooper and offered lots of smiles and laughs for everyone. She was especially into playing with Cory's necklace, what can I say, the girl has great taste!
